What game is Shan Koe Mee?
Shan Koe Mee is a traditional card game that has been played in Myanmar for generations. Also known as Koe Mee, it is played with a standard deck of cards. The core rule — the player whose card total is closest to 9 (Koe Mee) wins — is simple enough for the whole family to follow.
What makes Shan Koe Mee stand out is that while the scoring is straightforward, decisions on when to draw, when to stand, and how much to bet draw on years of playing experience, making it a game of real strategy. On qqq3 you can play 24/7 on any device — desktop or mobile.
Basic Rules and Strategy for Shan Koe Mee
A clear guide to the core rules for new and first-time players.
Card Values
Only the numeric value of each card is used — cards 1 through 9 count at face value, while 10, J, Q, and K are worth zero (0). An A counts as 1.
When the total exceeds 9
If your card total goes above 10, only the last digit counts. For example, 7+5=12 becomes 2 (Two Mee). A total of 9 is called 'Koe Mee' and is the highest possible score.
Deciding Whether to Draw
After the first two cards are dealt, you decide whether to draw another card. Strategy matters here — you need to analyse your total and your chances before deciding whether to draw or stand.
How to Place a Bet
When playing at qqq3, you can choose whatever bet amount you like. You can adjust your bet from game to game, so you always play within your budget.
How the Winner is Decided
After all players reveal their cards, the player closest to 9 wins. If there is a tie, it is resolved by card suit or card design.
